SILAS HOUSE
Silas House is an addiction education facility. Proudly established by a team of qualified and experienced people with a desire to help people feel their best and live meaningful lives. We are set up as a charitable trust, so all our activities are motivated by a desire to improve the wellness of the community.
Addiction is settled deep within our community, leaving even the most resilient family and support networks helpless. The social impact from untreated addiction is devastating, causing great harm to the community as a whole. What the community needs to fight this disease is education and support. The team at Silas House create a safe and supportive place to deliver these priceless services.
St Marks in Blenheim is currently the only nearby option for people wishing to make the serious life change required to achieve and maintain sobriety - and their waiting list is over-subscribed.
Giving the Nelson community a place where people and their families suffering from addiction can make the shift to long standing recovery is the goal of Silas House. That is why our next goal is to expand the education programme to include a residential facility where people have 24/7 support.
This gives the individual an opportunity to heal away from the environment they were struggling in and introduces them to a therapeutic community of people that share and understand a similar experience but whom also have the motivation to gain recovery.
If you are struggling with addiction, or a family member wanting to find help for a loved one, contact Silas House today for a confidential chat.
